This GCSE Biology revision quiz is based on the popular TV quiz format, Impossible.

Students compete in small groups or in teams to identify the correct, incorrect and 'impossible' answers to four questions about hormones on quiz cards. Students are awarded points for each accurate answer, and bonus points for explaining why 'impossible' answers are impossible scientifically. 

Includes printable quiz cards and detailed answer cards, which include explanations as to why the 'impossible' answers are impossible. There are also teaching notes to explain the rules of the quiz! 

Alternatively, play the quiz as a class with the interactive PowerPoint. 

The four questions are: 

Q1 What are hormones?

Q2 What happens to blood sugar levels in the blood?

Q3 How do hormones influence human reproduction?

Q4 What are plant hormones and how do they work?

Most hormones act quickly e.g. adrenaline.

Hormones are inorganic chemicals.

Hormones interact with DNA and the process of protein synthesis.

The pancreas is the 'master' gland of the endocrine system.

The thyroid controls blood sugar levels.

Hormones are secreted by glands in the endocrine system.

The adrenal glands sit above the kidneys.

Hormones and enzymes have the same role.

The testes control egg production.
