An excellent springboard. I re-jigged a students essay on 'Philadelphia Here I Come' and made the class annotate using this as an example- even though they had not read this play. They had fun suggesting improvements, using a thesaurus for synonyms, colouring in and underlining. They formed good thesis statements of their own and were conscious of essay structure. So often they are only focusing on quote, technique and effect. Thanks for this.
