What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects reading, writing and spelling.

Many people find that dyslexia brings all sorts of positive gifts, such as exceptional creativity, imagination and problem-solving.

However, people with dyslexia may also have difficulty processing and remembering information they see and hear, and this can affect the development of their literacy skills.

Dyslexia can also affect other areas such as organisational skills, numeracy, language, motor coordination and concentration.

You’ll find lots more information and advice about dyslexia, or learn about the signs of dyslexia in early years, primary and secondary pupils as well as adults.

Teaching for Neurodiversity is a series of three one-hour webinars designed for education professionals. There are three videos for each age range. Part 1 is relevant to all. Find out more about their free training for teachers
