What is Teachit?

Teachit is a tried and trusted education resource used by thousands of teachers. Teachit Citizenship is Teachit's secondary site specialising in Citizenship for Key Stages 3 and 4, the libraries offer hundreds of pages of materials, all created by classroom teachers and constantly growing.

Teachit Citizenship is by teachers for teachers

We believe that the best resources are created at the chalkface. We also believe in paying you for the fruits of your labours. That's why we share our revenues with all the fantastic teachers who fill up the libraries by sending us their excellent materials.

The life of a Teachit Citizenship resource

  1. A resource is contributed to the site by a fab teacher.
  2. Once selected for publication, the resource is edited by the team.
  3. It's then given a mini make-over.
  4. The resource is published in a range of photocopiable, editable and digital formats.

Our membership

Teachit Citizenship membership offers adaptable MS Office versions of materials, PowerPoints, whiteboard resources, interactive tasks and digital tools for bespoke whizzies, as well as My Teachit for selecting, storing and sharing your favourite resources.

Teachit membership really is invaluable ... We don't have time to re-invent the wheel and having all these resources to tweak and adjust for our classes is fantastic.

Where Teachit Citizenship started

Founded by English teacher Siobhain Archer in 1999 as a spare-time addition to her teaching workload, Teachit rapidly gathered its own momentum as colleagues discovered the value of sharing their teaching materials. Since then, in addition to the original English site, Teachit has launched sites to support Primary, ELT, Citizenship, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages, Geography, History and Science colleagues.

Teachit Citizenship, Collins and ACT

Before 2013 Teachit Citizenship was called Citizenship Teacher and the content was created by Teachit and Collins Education in association with ACT. All content published from 2013 has been created by Teachit – and our dedicated team of teacher contributors.
